Click the image for pictures and more details about Fisher House
Fisher House was founded in 1990 by philanthropists Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher. The first house was located at Bethesda Naval Hospital outside Washington, D.C. There are currently 50 Fisher Houses at military and VA hospitals across the country and at US military facilities in Germany.

Fisher House provides a "home away from home" for military families while their loved ones recover from wounds or illness. The Fisher House concept is based on the established fact that patients recover more quickly when they have family to support them. Fisher House has saved military families more than $120 million in lodging costs.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association

The MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease), and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy, and education.

When the MDA was formed, it wasn’t known which diseases started in the nerves and which started in the muscles. Since then, MDA-funded research has defined treatment for muscle diseases and on nerve diseases affecting muscle. What is taught in medical school about muscle is due in large part to the public’s support of MDA.

How To Get A PSA On The Air
Public Service Announcements (PSA's) are announcements of community events and we’d love to help your charity, civic or fundraising group get your message out to our listeners.  We can help with everything from community garage sales to benefit a charity, pet adoption fairs for local animal shelters, and everything in between.  If you’re doing something to make our community better let us tell everyone about it.
